Bahrain
A trip to Bahrain would not be complete without visiting one of the 85,000 or so Grave Mounds and there is also a gallery dedicated to the subject if really enthused! Other museums include Beit Al-Qur'amn and if you enjoy wildlife, take a trip to the Al'Areen Wildlife Centre.
Asian specialities abound including Chinese, Thai and Filipino food. Also don't leave Bahrain without trying a sweet and fattening Baklava for dessert.
Some of the 5 star hotels bring out touring European theatre companies and the odd Arab singing star can also be found. If that doesn't take your fancy chill out in a good local bar or lounge.
Pearls and gold are Bahrain's speciality, but there are also some interesting local handicrafts including hand-woven cloth, baskets and Arabesque coffee pots.
