Malta
There are some fascinating historic sights throughout the island,
towering fortifications, stately palazzos, noble Baroque churches,
covering the major periods of history. In particular Verdala Castle,
the Fort Manoel ruins or wander around Mdina City. Gaze in awe at
the view from the Dingli cliffs & walk along the Ta'Cenc cliffs
at Gozo.
The Splash & Fun Park at White Rocks has a pool for adults to relax
in and around and the other has lots of water chutes to keep the
kids happy for hours. The island also has two dinosaur parks one
next to the Splash and Fun Park the other at the Ta'Qali National
Park. For older children who love horror a trip to the gruesome
waxworks at Mdina Dungeons might be just the ticket or to please
younger kids and your pocket a few hours of free entertainment at
Playmobil's Fun Park factory at Zejtun might be worth the trip.
Malta has superb diving, swimming and sailing and a full range
watersports. Fantastic (off road) mountain biking. For the less
active, join the passionate crowd at one of the Premier league matches,
or have a flutter on the gee-gees at Marsa.
Hearty rabbit stews and fresh lampuki (fish) pie are favorites.
Locally brewed Cisk lager and Hop Leaf ale, the best wines are from
Masovin and sweet white tea and pastizzi is an excellent hangover
cure.

Where to dance the night away
|
Head for Paceville and St George's Bay if your are looking for
a good boogie or if you want to stay cool there are a few out of
the way open air discos if you have your own transport.
The Jazz Festival and Farson's International Food & Beer Festival
are both very popular events held during July and from June to September
each village celebrates its 'festa', finishing with homemade fireworks
- if you join in the celebrations you'll definitely need lots of
sweet white tea the morning after.
Handmade lace from Gozo, hand-blown glass from Mdina a personal
suit of armour from Ta'Qali or some teeth-breaking nougat.
