Sports & Activity Holidays
Gone are the days when activity holidays consisted only of a gentle cycling tour in Holland or a golfing holiday in Spain. The range that is now on offer, from dune boarding in Namibia to white water rafting down rapids, should keep even the most addicted adrenalin-junkie happy and also provide plenty of options for the whole family to get away and try something new.

White water rafting in North America |
Whitewater rafting has become one of the most popular activities for people visiting America's national parks and it doesn't always consist of massive whitewater rapids, so it can be enjoyed by the whole of the family.
The key things you need to consider when planning a rafting trip include: What type of water are you after - a soothing ride with
plenty of time to enjoy the scenery or a heart stopping adventure
down rapids and round river boulders. What length of trip do you
want - a few hours or an adventure that lasts several days. What
time of year you wish to travel because the rainy season dramatically
affects the water level.
Our suggested options:
1. Yellowstone River, Montana - A great trip for the whole family
that can be enjoyed in a day or half day with a combination of whitewater,
drifting along enjoying the scenery and stopping for a lunch break
and a swim.
2. A 9/12 day trip down the Alsek and Tatshenshini Rivers crossing
parts of Yukon, British Columbia & Alaska. This trip really takes
you away from it all and combines the beautiful scenery of 4 national
parks including the towering icebergs of Alaska's Glacier Bay.

Trekking in the Nepal Himalayas
|
Visit the beautiful country of Nepal, dominated by the spectacular
Himalaya Mountains. If you enjoy walking and getting away from urban
life, a trekking trip to Nepal is a magical combination.
Spend a few days in Kathmandu - visiting temples, getting a feel
for the culture and planning your trek. Nepal's culture combines
both the Indian influence of Hinduism and the Tibetan influence
of Buddhism and the people are very warm and friendly.
When planning your trip the things you need to consider include:
The route you want to take - how far you want to walk and how strenuous
you want the trek to be. Whether you are going to stay in hotels
on route or camp out under the stars and whether you wish to hire
porters or carry your own luggage.
Our suggestions for trekking routes:
1. Bagung to Tatopani - Annapurna region - an easy trek at lower
altitude, but still with wonderful views.
2. Ghandruk Loop - Annapurna region - a fun trek with some interesting
villages along the way.
Surfing has become a growing passion amongst a whole generation
who will travel across the world to catch the best waves. If you
are one such person, Indonesian waters provide you with an absolute
paradise and for the more casual surfer you can combine a trip to
a beautiful island such as Bali, with a spot of surfing on the side.
Less well known than places such as Hawaii - there are bays right
across the Indonesian Archipelago that attract keen surfers from
around the world. Our suggestions:
1. Grajagan in East Java - a world-famous spot, known in surfing
circles as "awesome perfection" - definitely somewhere to head if
you are a serious surfer.
2. Kuta-Legian Beach area in Bali - a beautiful sweeping beach
with waves that suit all types of abilities.
