Canada Holiday Review

In May 2001 I was lucky enough to win a place on an Educational to Eastern Canada.
My Journey started on a Monday morning leaving on a Business class ticket from Leeds Bradford down to London Heathrow, where I met other Travel Agents who were also taking part in the trip.
We then left London to fly to Montreal changing in Toronto flying with Air Canada Economy class.
The service was excellent, all flights were on time and we were even upgraded to Business class from Toronto to Montreal. A very good experience flying Business class with complimentary champagne, extra legroom as well as a free bowls of nuts (not a little bag!).
Once we arrived in Montreal we then picked up a minibus and drove to our first port of call Quebec City where we stayed 3nights at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel (First Class!).
Whilst in Quebec we visited many hotels in the city as well as many of the cities restaurants and too many bars at very reasonable rates.
The people were very friendly and the hotels were of a very good standard. In Quebec they have a very good underground system with a railway station, bars, restaurants, clothes shops (very cheap) and practically everything that you can think of even McDonalds!.
You would think that been underground would cause problems to the above hotels but if you didn't know about it then you would never guess as you cant hear a train or anything.
After this we took our journey north to a little town called Mon Tremblent, this town is very picturesque and peaceful, in the winter this is the perfect place for Ski lovers as well as other winter sports like snow boarding.
In the summer it is a lovely quiet resort of which travellers come to admire the scenery as well as activities for the active traveller varying from cycling to walking. The town itself has a lovely feeling of friendliness and is not the normal commercialised town that you would expect.
After that we had the opportunity to go whale watching along the St. Lawrence river which was a fantastic experience (very cold but worth it).
All in all a fantastic experience, warm friendly people, very reasonable to eat and drink out just not enough time to see it all. If you get the chance to go make sure you take at least 2-3 weeks and a lot of film for your camera.
I have enclosed a list of the hotels in which I have visited and can highly recommend:
Le Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City
The Queen Elizabeth in Quebec city
Chateau Mon Tremblent in Mon Tremblent
