Paphos - Cyprus Holiday Review

I stayed at the Avanti Hotel in Paphos for a week in September 2004, and I will definitely be returning to this fantastic Hotel!
The staff were very welcoming and we felt right at home from the start. The rooms are spacious with adequate facilities, good sized bathroom and balcony. Our room was booked as inland view, but the view from the balcony was over the sea and of Paphos Harbour, no need to pay for a sea view room at all!
We stayed on half board which I am glad we did because the food was excellent. The theme changed every night and the buffet style meant there was plenty to choose from. 2 nights out of the 7 were set-up outdoors with a cocktail reception from the Hotel manager which was lovely.
The swimming pool is fantastic, plenty of sun beds to go round, and with a swim-up bar where you can sit and drink cocktails all day! There were also organised activities like aqua aerobics and volleyball.
The pool bar/restaurant was ideal if you don't like to venture too far for something to eat during the day.
The Hotel is in a good location, the local bus to Paphos old town and also the harbour stops outside the door, and is very cheap.
There are plenty of bars in the area, the only thing that might put you off the location is that it is not beach-front like most of the others; the beach is across the main road.
Entertainment in the hotel at night was poor but we found our own fun!
If you have a family and are stuck for somewhere to go then look no further!!
