Airtours cruises

Airtours cruises - Airtours cruise information - Airtours cruise offers

The Airtours Cruise fleet

Airtours have 4 cruise ships in the fleet presently, which are all 3 star plus except the Sunbird which is 4 star. The first of those was introduced in 1994 and is called the Seawing. After it's success Airtours went on to purchase the Carousel in 1995, the Sundream in 1997 and finally the Sunbird in 1999.

What Airtours have brought to the market is an affordable yet high quality, friendly, enjoyable way to cruise without missing out on the extremely high service levels and Itinerary choices that people have come to expect from cruising.

Prices

With prices starting from £399 for a taster cruise the cost of an Airtours cruise is excellent value for money. Included in the price are all tips which is a great saving as on some ships you could be expected to pay out around £10 to £15 a day.

Will I have to get dressed up?

Airtours cruises have only two formal nights a week and even those are relaxed compared to other Cruise ships. Airtours will not insist on gents wearing tuxedos or suits, if they feel more comfortable in just a smart shirt and trousers then that will be acceptable although as it is only two nights of the week we tend to find people enjoy the chance to impress.

Will you be bored?

This could not be further from the truth, Airtours have a program of entertainment which begins first thing in the morning with fitness classes, sports, pool games, quizzes and demonstrations such as wine tasting and ice carving. This continues into the evening with at least three separate entertainment venues running simultaneously each night offering something for all tastes.

What is the age range of an cruise customer?

Airtours attract a much larger age range of customer. They have around 100,000-cruise passengers travel with them each year and within the summer months the average age is around 42 years old. This means they carry many younger as well as older passengers making it a very enjoyable atmosphere on board. Airtours also run children's clubs called the 'Stingrays' for the 3 to 6 year olds and the 'Barracudas' for the 7 to 12 year olds. All the ships have a fully kited out children's area with qualified children's club leaders on hand to entertain them throughout their stay.

Itineraries

There are various options available to you when booking a cruise. Firstly there is the straightforward cruise, for either one or two weeks. Or you can combine a one-week cruise with one week's accommodation. Airtours Cruises like to offer a simple to understand formula. Most of there cruises set off from a central point, for example Palma, and travel one week one way before returning and setting off for one week the other way.

This then repeats all through the season. The main exception to the rule is the Sundream, which is based in the UK during the summer season. It offers only two-week itineraries with no stay option. From Southampton it will visit various ports in the Mediterranean. From Harwich it will visit the Baltic and Norwegian Fiords. Airtours have over 25 choices of itinerary between the summer and winter program giving the customer plenty to choose from.

On board facilities

While on board, as mentioned before, there are many things to get involved in including, swimming pool to cool off in, health and beauty service to get those all important massages and facials, shops for your gifts, gymnasium if you feel like keeping fit while on board, a sports deck where many of the activities are held and of course a casino for those who are feeling lucky.

At night the whole ship comes even more to life, after a long day exploring the days destination you can get ready for a night full of excitement at one or all of the evening venues. Each ship has at least three key venues, one of these offers large west end style shows performed by our in house entertainment team this is also the venue where you can see our excellent professional singers and comedians who we fly in each week for your entertainment.

Dining

When it comes to dining you cannot beat the cruise ship. There are 6 meals a day, starting with breakfast, elevenses, lunch, afternoon tea, a full five course evening meal and to top it all off the late night buffet.

The late night buffet is where you can sample the different theme nights throughout the week like Mexican, Chinese and one the most popular which is the chocoholic night where the entire buffet is nothing but chocolate. The quality of the food is exceedingly high and the staff will go to every length to find food to suite all tastes.

Cabins

Firstly the inside cabins, which have no windows or port holes, then the outside cabins, which feature either a porthole or a picture window, depending of the deck level. All cabins have en suite facilities, maid service twice a day, air conditioning and on the Sunbird only they also have televisions in each cabin. With regards size, there is not a huge difference in size between the different decks until you get to the deluxe and suites.

On the Sunbird only we have the penthouse suites which come with a butler for the duration, your own private balcony, a bath as well as shower facility, a fridge and a TV and video as well as being superbly finished and larger in size.

All Inclusive option

Due to over 76% of Airtours cruise customer expressing an interest in all-inclusive we have introduced it to all our ships as an option. All passengers who wish to take advantage of this facility can do so by visiting the pursuer's desk at the time of embarkation and paying a supplement of approximately £119 per person per week for an adult and approximately £49 per person per week for the children. Included in this is all house brands, including cocktails, wines, draught beers which are Stella and Boddingtons and spirits. This operates between 10am and 2am.

Will I be seasick?

Unfortunately no cruise company can guarantee that you will not get sea sick if the water turns turbulent. What they can ensure is that all their ships are fitted with stabilizers which extend like fins under the water and help steady the ship through rough seas.

We also have tablets available at all times from behind the pursuer's desk, which is open 24hrs a day and is the equivalent to a hotel reception.

We also have a fully qualified doctor and nurses on each ship who can administer an injection, which will most definitely sort out the problem.

Why cruise with Airtours?

Cruising is a very fast growing market and within Airtours they pride themselves on being the number one in affordable cruising. Airtours can safely say this as customers continually rate it the highest of all the product range Airtours have to offer. In fact 95% of passengers stated that they would travel with Airtours again and would recommend a friend.
