A great choice for anyone in search of a holiday paradise island with spectacular scenery, wonderful beaches and the kind of tranquility most people can only dream about.
Couples, honeymooners and more mature holidaymakers will love the Velavaru with its intimate style bungalow accommodation, excellent facilities, cool lagoon and warm friendly atmosphere.
A true escape from the pressures of modern life, Velavaru is known locally as Turtle Island due to the unique style of the accommodation.
Set on the island of Velavaru in the South Nilande Atoll, the accommodation is right on the sandy white beach.
As you'd expect on an island getaway, there are no shops to distract you though there are some shops on a neighbouring local island, which is easily reached on a 30 minute boat ride.
The transfer is 45 minutes by seaplane andthen a further 5 minutes by boat (included in the price).
All superior rooms are beach facing semi-detatched bungalows and sleep either 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child in one double bed or two single beds.
They include air-conditioning, mini-bar*, safety deposit box, hairdryer, beach towels, part open-air bathroom (hot water) and terrace.
Deluxe rooms have similar facilities and are slightly larger detatched bungalows with CD player and tea and coffee making facilities.

Generally customers are left to enjoy the peace and quiet though the resort does organise occasional evenings of local music.

The hotel has two restaurants, the main restaurant serves a variety of local and international buffet style meals.
Unlimited drinks are also served during meal times served by the glass (beer, wine, soft drinks). "Omala" an a la carte restaurant* also serves a variety of local and international cuisine.
The lounge bar has a selection of soft and alcoholic drinks and will stay open most of the day and until the last customer leaves in the evening - or morning.
Volleyball and table tennis are available at the hotel while snorkelling, windsurfing and scuba diving* (Ocean Pro Dive School) can be arranged at the beach. Please note: Asterisk indicates a local charge.
