Each year the legendary city of Rome welcomes the arrival of spring with an internationally renowned music extravaganza.
Every May 1st the city's San Giovanni Square hosts an epic music festival which draws musicians from across the globe and this year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever.
The festival has fast become an integral part of the Roman cultural calendar, but is also widely regarded outside the Eternal City and has already attracted the likes of UK rock band Oasis, who performed at the event in 2002.

A host of television crews converge on the site, but you will be competing for their attentions with thousands of fellow revellers if you have designs on fame.
The event runs from 2pm - 11.30pm and entrance is free to all-comers.
If you find yourself in Rome for the event, it may be tempting to forget how much else the city has to offer as you get caught up in the vibrant Festival atmosphere.
But there is plenty: Of course, it's not possible to soak up everything in one trip, but be sure to check out the famous Coliseum, the breathtaking Vatican Museums, Raphael's tomb at the Pantheon and the awe-inspiring St. Peter's Basilica.
