In a Hollywood-style tale of love, the Oscar-winning actress married country and western star Kenny Chesney, on the tiny yet stunning island of St John, in the US Virgin Islands.
The US Virgin Islands are one of the most idyllic places on earth, with beautiful coastlines attracting many cruise liner tourists and paradise seekers alike.
Two thirds of St John itself, where the celebrity couple tied the knot, is preserved National Park land, and offers beautiful beaches and great views.
St Croix meanwhile is the largest of the islands, made up of forested hills, secluded beaches and surrounded by superb coral reefs.
The best white sand beaches though are saved for St Thomas, while diving and snorkelling is particularly special at the Buck Island Reef, off St Croix.
Peak season is from December to May, but far better deals can be sealed outside of this period, and the weather is reliably temperate too.
