October 21st to 24th is the island of Bermuda's Culinary Arts Festival, where sun loving meets food loving in three days of special events, guest talks and great food.
Prolific New York chef and writer Anthony Bourdain, Todd English, who was One of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People", and the aphrodisiac specialist, Amy Reiley, will all be in attendance to tantalise the taste buds of the adventurous.
There are a host of different seminars, tours and tastings in which to take part, kicking off with an opening reception set against the backdrop of Bermuda's beautiful botanical gardens.
However, the highlight of the three days is almost certainly the Premier Fish Chowder Challenge, which celebrates Bermuda's iconic national dish.
Made on the island as a tradition since the 1600s, it is uniquely made with burnt sugar and the original Bermuda black rum, Bermuda Seal, which has been locally manufactured from a blend of Caribbean rums since 1864.
The challenge is open to all Bermuda residents, with separate categories for amateurs and professionals, and the winning chowder will be crowned "Bermuda's Best".
At the same time, a first for this year's event is an evening of food and wine in the unusual setting of Bermuda's Aquarium and Zoo, learning something of the island's heritage while sampling a range of local specialities.
When it is just impossible to indulge yourself any more, there is also the opportunity to play a round of golf, perhaps with the chefs themselves.
Riddell's Bay Golf & Country Club is one of the island's best, also promising some of the best views of the spectacular surrounding countryside.
