The Down Under destination of Australia has been voted as the world's best country by readers of the Sunday Times Travel Magazine.
Some 7,000 readers had their say about what makes tourist attractions tick and Australia clearly ticked all the right boxes, with the US and Thailand coming second and third respectively.
The US got its revenge when it came to cities though, with New York coming out on top, followed by Sydney and Barcelona.
However, if it is a top hotel that you are after, then you will have to look somewhere a little more exotic.
Readers plumped for the Hilton Rangali in the Maldives as the world's best hotel, followed by Hong Kong's Mandarin Oriental and Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
Ed Grenby, the magazine's editor, commented: "Over 7,000 readers voted this year which just goes to show how passionate our readers feel about travel and why these awards are so respected by the travel industry."
Closer to home, Champneys in Hertfordshire was voted the UK's best spa, beating Nirvana in Berkshire and London's Sanctuary to the honour.
