Jennifer Anniston has reportedly decided to flee from the back-biting and paparazzi hounding of Hollywood to start a new life in chicago.
Why? Well a simple look at what the Windy City has to offer might explain a few things.
Sitting on the banks of Lake Michigan the city stretches for 40km along its majestic shore, offering unrivalled opportunities for getting out in to the great outdoors and experiencing some of the Big Country at first hand.
The capital of Illinois, Chicago was founded in the 19th century and its situation between the established cities on the east coast and the wild west meant that it was at the forefront of innovation.
One such area of innovation and the city boasts the world's first ever skyscraper. The Home Insurance Building, erected 1885 by architect Major William Le Baron Jenney, was the world's first load-carrying structural frame, the development of which led to the "Chicago skeleton" form of construction and the big skyscrapers of later years.
The tradition has continued and today Chicago is famous for its towering skyline and modern architecture and is home to the world famous 110-story Sears Tower.
The city boats a vast array of bars, restaurants and live venues specialising in jazz and blues Chicago is home to many Irish and eastern European immigrants and still has the largest polish population in the world outside Warsaw, reflected in the local cuisine.
Add to that the electric nightlife, fascinating history (Al Capone et al) it isn't surprising that when Anniston was asked why she was upping roots and heading to Chicago she said: "It makes sense to leave."
