As World Cup fever approaches, non-football fans are taking the opportunity to leave the country to avoid the pandemonium that ensues once the famous competition gets underway.
More than one in eight Brits are planning to escape the television coverage of the highlight of the footballing calendar this summer, according to a survey by American Express Travel Insurance.
With the event lasting over a month, many sun-seekers are looking to jet off to brighter destinations - especially if England don't do well.
And it might not come as a surprise that the majority of holiday bookers are female, with 56 per cent of British women travelling abroad during this period.
But some Brits can not do without watching the World Cup and are planning to holiday in destinations where they know they will be able to get tournament coverage.
A further seven per cent of English football fans won't be booking a holiday until England are knocked out of the competition.
"If England gets knocked out of the World Cup, we are expecting a rush of last minute bookings. Yet amidst the rush to getaway, it is easy to overlook travel insurance."
