The campaigner and his French partner visited the city's luxurious Musikverein concert hall for the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra's Ball.
Geldof looked dapper with combed hair and a white tie and tails, as well as an impressive collection of medals, including the accolade he received from the Queen when he was given an honorary knighthood in 1986.
His positive first impressions were sustained throughout the evening, as he took to the dance floor with his partner and enjoyed a graceful waltz.
The Musikverein concert hall is one of Vienna's most distinctive and attractive landmarks, which has hosted numerous high-profile events owing to its famous acoustics.
Vienna itself is famous for its musical history, largely owing to the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johan Strauss.
The city is home to a number of famous tourist attractions, including the Hofburg and Schonbrunn palaces.
