Jamaica's tourist industry is looking forward to a big expansion as 15 new hotels open over the next few years bringing 6,000 new rooms into the market. Iberostar and Barcelo hotel chains are planning several properties which will mean a 40% increase in Jamaica's bed stock. The infrastructure in Jamaica is being improved and great care is being taken to make sure that the new hotels do not spoil the islands natural beauty. All the new hotels are based around existing resort towns or village areas.
Barcelo hotels plan to build three new hotels in Trelawny. Iberostar plan to build three new hotels in Montego Bay and on the Rose Hill Estate. Pinero plans to build 3 new hotels at Glistening Waters near Runaway Bay and Secrets plans to build four new hotels in Falmouth.
Jamaica already has some excellent resort hotels. These hotels are on the whole All Inclusive properties which also include plenty of activities included in the basic price. All Inclusive holidays in the Caribbean have been popular for several years now as they include all food, drinks and activities and so you know almost exactly how much your holiday will cost.
