Aug 24, 2005, 16:30

One of this year's worst kept secrets was officially uncovered this week, when Downing Street confirmed the holiday destination of Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Mr Blair is holidaying on the Caribbean island of Barbados, the news becoming common knowledge after he attended a public government function to honour local veterans.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that he is staying at Sir Cliff Richard's villa, despite Downing Street's best efforts to keep this piece of information under wraps.

Barbados is a beautiful place to visit. It offers great weather, superb beaches and watersports, and some of the friendliest people you are likely to meet.

Cricket lovers can enjoy a trip to the Bridgetown Oval, a unique experience that shows the sport in a different light to any other nation in the world.

Be sure to sample some Mount Gay Rum as well, a surefire way to ensure you get into the party atmosphere that the island offers.

For anyone with money burning a hole in your pocket, then a stay at the Sandy Lane hotel is also recommended, as it is commonly regarded as one of the very best hotels in the world.

Mr Blair's holiday has also involved a trip to the exotic, private island of Mustique, frequented by millionaires and aristocrats alike.
