Thailand is to enjoy a whole series of celebratory events in 2006 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
The Thai monarch, who came to the throne in 1946, is the world's longest serving monarch, and intends to see his diamond jubilee anniversary year go off in style.
There will be a wide variety of musical, cultural and sporting events staged throughout the year across the country, under the banner of Greatest Special Events.
There will also be a number of jazz festivals, which will be of particular interest to His Majesty who is said to be an enthusiastic fan of jazz.
Furthermore, visitors can take in the impressive sight of the Royal Barge Procession, Royal Procession and Trooping of the Colours.
The Thailand Grand Invitation campaign was launched at the World Travel Market in London last week, by his eldest daughter Princess Ubol Ratana.
