A new poll has revealed the best spas in North America, the Caribbean and Mexico.
The Conde Nast Traveler 2007 Spa Poll revealed that The Spa at the Four Seasons Resort on the Caribbean island of Nevis is the best place in North America to relax.
The Spa scored over 90 per cent in all six categories, scoring particularly well for treatments, cuisine and location.
Second and third best resort spas were named as the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur California, and the Mii Amo Spa at the Enchantment Resort in Arizona .
The poll also revealed the top trends for spas in the coming year. Growing in popularity are so-called 'babymoons', where expectant mothers enjoy prenatal massages and the chance to relax before the storm of a new baby.
Also detoxing continues to be popular, but many US spas are turning to detoxing people's lifestyles. On top of the usual saunas, massages and beauty treatments, courses to help people lose weight, stop drinking or smoking and de-stress are becoming favourites in the US.
