About St. Lucia
St. Lucia has lush mountains, tropical forests and the majesty of the volcanic peaks of the Pitons. St. Lucia is one of the Caribbean's most popular tourist destinations.
Much of the island is a mix of small fishing villages, secluded coves, beautiful beaches, sprawling banana plantations and mountainous jungle.
The country's national rain forest covers about 19,000 acres. But the most dramatic scenery is in the south, where the twin volcanic peaks of the Pitons rise sharply from the sea to form distinctive landmarks that are almost half a mile high.
