Wellington Video Guide
About Wellington
You didn't know what to expect when you decided to visit Wellington. After all, it is the capital city of an island country known mostly for Kiwi - both the fruit and the flightless bird.
You've flown over glacial mountains, rain forests and boiling mud pools. The in-flight magazine said New Zealand was the last major landmass to be explored. Not surprising, considering how long it took you to get here.
Then you see Wellington Harbour, a great blue bowl rimmed by skyscrapers standing at the foot of green hills dotted with white wooden houses. Wellington lies at the bottom of North Island. You can also visit the art deco city of Napier in the heart of Hawkes Bay, the wine village of Martinborough in the beautiful Wairarapa.
